| About The Artist
Darlene Willson was born in Liberty Center,
Ohio on September 20, 1951. She married Norman Willson on 18th day
of September in 1999 and they moved to Atlanta, Michigan in 2002.
She started sculpting in 1979 with salt dough,
which she used up until she discovered polymer clays in 1981. She has never had art lessons.
Sculpting has become somewhat more difficult
since she developed diabetic retinopathy, leaving her legally blind as of
2002. She does most of her work by feeling - one of the senses that the
Lord has graciously given her.
Honors and Awards
The Michigan Commission for the Blind presented Darlene with the 2006 Achievement Honor Roll Certificate of Recognition in December of 2006.
Darlene was also inducted into the Cambridge Who's Who of Professional Women for the year 2007-2008 publication.
About Her Sculptures
| She sculpts animals
of all sizes - from as small as your little fingernail, up to the size
that will fit in a regular oven. She has done several one-of-a-kind
sculptures and she has pieces all over the world. Special orders & personalization are available upon request.
She has over 200 different ornaments, from
occupational designs to musical and sports ornaments. She also carries
several animal designs in the size from 1 inch to 6 inches.
The prices for her work start at $1.99
and go up to $75.00, depending on what you desire. Some special request
items may cost more.
All items are signed by the artist. Special Order items are signed, dated and numbered.
